ADULT: STUDENT RATIO

Adult to student ratio is 1:7 per gender (with a maximum ratio of 1:3)

Adult leaders MUST be 18 years of age or older.

All adult leaders are expected to spend time at each event with their students.

It is the responsibility of adult leaders to enforce the Power Connection rules and guidelines within their own group.

STUDENT SUBSTITUTIONS

If one student cancels and you would like another student to take their spot that is great!!

PLEASE take into consideration there are a few date limitations that apply to substituting one student for another:

After May 31, 2010 substitutions can only be like gender.
That means replaces a male with a male and a female with a female.

After July 7, 2010 NO substitutions will be allowed.
If a student cancels after July 7, that spot will not be replaced.

Please know we are not doing this to make you upset! Due to office preparations, housing accommodations, medical emergency details, and our sanity we have set this in place.  If we could take students in up to the last minute we would but as of now it is not a wise decision for us.

If you have further inquiries regarding what we have in place please contact either Bob or Kristin at the office.

BUSSING POLICIES

Synod bussing is available to those groups going to Power Connection ONLY
If a group is also attending PC Work Camp, they are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Departure Locations

The specific departure locations will be finalized once all bussing registrations are turned in, and will be based on the most centralized and convenient location for the groups on that particular bus.  In attempt to keep bussing costs down, there will only be one departure point per bus.  Therefore, most youth groups will have to drive to the departure location, and it will be the responsibility of the youth group to get adults and students to this departure point.

Listed below, you will find the departure areas and the bussing cost (if your church is within 50 miles please select the closest one).  The bussing costs vary per area; the variance in cost reflects the driving distances and the amount of travel required.  If your area is not listed below and you would like to arrange transportation through the Synod, please call our office for more information and pricing.

Orange City, IA                 $40/person
Sioux Falls, SD                   $40/person
Spencer, IA                         $40/person

Des Moines, IA                 $60/person
Omaha, NE                         $60/person
Pella, IA                               $60/person

If you choose to utilize Synod Bussing, please have students make payment to your church, so you are able to include the additional Transportation Fees in the check you send with your registrations and registration sheet.

Cancellations/Refunds

NO REFUNDS will be given for transportation costs.  If an individual decides to cancel out, the transportation cost will be absorbed into the general transportation fund.

The Synod reserves the right to cancel transportation in the event of insufficient sign-ups or if the buses are not filled to capacity.  In this case only, refunds will be given for the transportation costs and only under the authorization of the Event Director.

In the event that buses do not fill to capacity, the Synod reserves the right to cancel this service and a full refund will be granted.
