Imagine 3000 youth from the Midwest
coming together to reach the people of Haiti.
My name is Tracy Cleveringa, the
Missions
Coordinator for Rocky Mountain High, and I want to give you the
opportunity
to help the people of Haiti by partnering your business with many of
the teenagers from Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Kansas,
Texas, and Nebraska area. Allow me to explain…
In July 2011, approximately 3,000 high
school students and their youth group leaders will be attending Rocky
Mountain High in Estes Park, Colorado. Rocky Mountain High is
a large youth group event put on by the Synod of the Heartland (part
of Reformed Church in America). This experience leads many students
to Christ and is a pivotal moment in their faith walk.
This year we are adding a new aspect
to Rocky Mountain High: serving the hungry and homeless in the world
through a food packing event. Our goal is to raise enough money
for an entire container shipment of food, which would help feed 378,500
people!!! For this to become a reality, we hope to raise $72,000
before RMH 2011. The food will be distributed among the hungry
in the United States, Africa, and Haiti. I know the event is a
long way off, but Haiti’s recovery from the earthquake will be a long,
slow process. We hope to provide some relief when others may have
forgotten about the tragedy in Haiti.
Would you be willing to partner with
the teenagers in the area to help the hungry? No amount is too
large or small. Any little bit can help…
$10 = Feeding 40 people
$100 = Feeding 400
people
$1,000 = Feeding 4,000
people
$10,000 = Feeding 40,000
people
Every dollar donated will go
exclusively
for the food itself; no administrative costs will be taken out of the
donation.
Parents and students alike will see that you have generously offered
to help!
If you would like to participate,
please
make any checks payable to Synod of the Heartland and mail it to:
