The Synod of the Heartland has scholarship opportunities for a number of different areas!  If you would like more information please talk to your Youth Pastor or contact the office.  We’d be more than happy to help you however we can!

CONFERENCES/RETREATS/WORK CAMPS

This scholarship fund is available to enable individuals to participate in conferences and missions (supported and offered by the Synod of the Heartland) after application and approval.  The Scholarship shall not exceed ½ of the total registration cost for the individual—not to exceed $200.00 per person. Up to three scholarships may be awarded per church/event. (Max. of $600/church).

To apply churches need to submit a written request describing the event they are considering attending, the cost of the registration, and a copy of the registration payment.  Additional information which may be requested by the Director of Youth Ministry includes: the amount the church and the individual are expected to contribute and how this event will help them in their ministry or personal growth.

For complete policy details regarding conferences/retreats/work camps please contact the office!

INTERNSHIP ASSISTANCE

The Synod of the Heartland Office of Youth Ministry offers financial assistance for Internships in Synod Churches or other approved youth ministry opportunities. Ministries applying for this Internship assistance are required to match the financial amount awarded by the Synod at minimum. The maximum amount of assistance from the Synod is $500/church or ministry/year.

Ministries must apply for this Internship assistance in writing and submit the request to the Director of Youth Ministry.  The request needs to include: a job description, explanation of the internship responsibilities, applicant profile, and guarantee of matching or higher reimbursement by the hiring ministry. The Internship Assistance payment will be paid directly to the ministry hiring the approved intern.

For complete policy details regarding Internship Assistance please contact the office!

LOH STUDENTS

Project Timothy is organized by the RCA for youth who are committed Christians, have completed ninth grade, and are 14 to 19 years old (by the beginning of July).

Project Timothy allows young people to explore and experience hands-on ministry. Teams of roughly seven students and one adult leader travel to sites across North America and around the world to learn more about themselves, teamwork, their faith, and their place in the church.

Participating LOH Students in Synod of the Heartland can apply for a $500 scholarship towards the cost of a Project Timothy trip.  If you are interested please contact the Orange City Youth Ministry Office for an application.

COLLEGES

Synod of the Heartland does not have a “direct” scholarship for attending an RCA college but if you are a member of an RCA church and attend an RCA college there are scholarships available through each individual school.

Please contact an admissions counselor to find out details.  Take note, in some cases there are numerous scholarships available for certain RCA members—be sure to ask what’s all out there!!!
